Welcome to the capital asuncion
Why paraguay?
Why you'll find us in Asuncion!
Due to the population density in this economic area and the ongoing economic growth, Asuncion is experiencing rapid change. Old buildings are giving way to new major projects and the city's image is becoming more and more modern.
In rural areas things are more tranquil. Development is happening at a much slower pace there. However, this is also appreciated by many emigrants.
Certainly the decision for every person who wants to emigrate is quite individual. In Paraguay, however, you quickly notice that the clocks tick differently here. People deal with everyday life more calmly and calmly, the Paraguayo say "tranquilo". This attitude to life is rather unknown to us, but it helps to become more balanced again.
Paraguay had no currency reform in the last 100 years, no equalization of burdens and the latter is not currently being discussed here, in contrast to the Federal Republic of Germany.
In the center you will find structures that have grown over decades. Parks, restaurants, pubs, ministries, the immigration office, the presidential palace, the adjacent Costa Nera, historical buildings and many shops are in the old center of Asuncion. If you are interested in Asuncion, you can explore many interesting places in the city from here.

The Costa Nera borders directly on the old town, the presidential palace, and the Paraguayan parliament. In recent years, a large recreational area has been created here for the residents of Asunción. The area has been completely redesigned for sports activities and walks along the riverbank.
From us you can reach most destinations on foot. You can also reach more distant places very cheaply with a Bolt (similar to Uber).

Immigration to Paraguay is currently still quite straightforward compared to many other countries. The immigration authority, "Migracion," requires a manageable number of documents.
If you are interested in the "Cedula" and the "residence permit," you should expect to pay around €1,000 (plus the cost of any documents you need to bring from Germany). Currently, you can obtain the residence permit, which is valid for two years, quite quickly. You will receive the Cedula from the authorities after about six months.
After two years, you can then apply for an unlimited residence permit. The costs for this also amount to approximately €1,000.00.
The issue of crime in Paraguay deters many people considering emigration. Such news frequently appears on social media.
Many German newcomers compare the conditions here to those in Germany; that's a mistake!
Over 90% of immigrants move to the countryside, wanting to be self-sufficient and believing they will be protected from criminal attacks there! But the exact opposite is true in Paraguay. In the countryside, there is little police presence, and the village police officers are usually related to and acquainted with the neighbors. In the countryside, you are "the German" and have no lobby. To many, you are the rich one, and it doesn't affect the poor, so what are you complaining about?
Many foreigners in rural areas become "prisoners" of their property, as they can't leave it unattended. For example, if they need to go shopping, someone often has to stay home. Can you imagine living like that?
When considering emigration, think differently: you'll find significantly greater safety in Asunción, even far greater than in the best of all time in Germany. There's a generally high police presence here, so you'll hardly ever hear about such attacks. The general level of education and economic development is also considerably higher.
For a carefree start in Paraguay, you should familiarize yourself with Asuncion and take your time to explore the city.
German regular meet up Asuncion
Every two weeks, we host a German get-together at the Negroni rooftop bar in downtown Asunción. This group was founded this year and has become very popular. Many Germans and Germans with Paraguayan partners meet every other Thursday at 7 p.m. and spend a few pleasant hours together. Here, they exchange news, experiences, and other information.
The German regular meet up in the center of Asuncion is not an "online regulars' table", here you meet real people in person 😉
Important!
The German regular meet up in Asunción is not a sales event, but rather serves as a networking opportunity for Germans living in Asunción. We cultivate our German language and friendly interactions with one another.
